Uttara Chari

Dr. Uttara Chari is dually trained as a clinical psychologist and special educator. Currently, in her role as a faculty of clinical psychology at a large tertiary care medical hospital and college, Dr. Chari is actively involved in clinical care, teaching, and research in child and adolescent mental health. She is a core faculty of the post-doctoral child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at the hospital; one of the few in her home country – India. She enjoys teaching undergraduate and postgraduate medical/non-medical students courses in child and adolescent psychopathology, psychological assessments and therapies. Her research interests include attachment dysregulations, emotional disorders, and psychotherapy. As a clinician, she is known for her astute diagnostic capacities and psychodynamically oriented psychotherapeutic approach. In addition to her current appointment as an early career mentor, Dr. Chari also serves as one of the chief editors for the IACAPAP e-textbook.
