Michal Goetz, MD, PhD

Graduated from the 2nd Medical Faculty, Charles University Prague in 1997; his Ph.D. in Psychopathology he obtained at 1st Medical Faculty, Charles University Prague. Michal Goetz is a child and adolescent psychiatrist, an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Charles University, Second Faculty of Medicine in Prague, he works as a physician at the Department of Child Psychiatry, Motol University Hospital and at the Psychosomatic Clinic in Prague. He is a member of the International Relationships committee and of the Programme Committee of the American Academy Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, an elected member of the board in the Section of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry of the Czech Psychiatric Association and a member of the Council of the Ministry of Health, Czech Republic for the reform of Psychiatry. Dr. Goetz as a principal investigator and co-investigator obtained national peer reviewed research grants on offspring of parents with bipolar disorder, on ADHD and preterm born infants. Dr. Goetz authored and co-authored numerous scientific articles and book chapters. He was a leading author for ADHD treatment guidelines published by Czech Psychiatric Association. He is a member of editorial boards of pediatric and mental health scientific journals. He was fortunate to have had observerships at Boston Children’s Hospital and at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School. In 2016, he spent time as a visiting professor at the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Calgary. In July 2018 Dr. Goetz became Vice President of the International Association for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Allied Professions.
